   PREMISE
We all know the story by now: once upon a time, in a land far, far, away, there was a fair maiden and a prince. It was love at first sight, somebody with questionable motives tried to unsuccessfully keep the two from each other, a few songs were typically sung here and there, but they eventually got their own happily ever after in the end. Until they find themselves tumbling into a whole new world, that is - maybe the old hag pushed her down a well, the evil witch cast a spell on him, or they both just woke up here. Either way, an ever-increasing amount of fairy tale characters have suddenly found themselves dumped into a land even further away than their own: New York City.
Welcome to ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) enchanters, a new game based on the movie Enchanted! The gist is fairly simple: it's all centered around characters from your beloved fairy tales who have, for one reason or another, tumbled into modern-day New York City, and the normal people that they interact with. We're really hoping to create a fun, friendly, active place around here that won't die as soon as it starts, so let's make this place just that!

RULES
All of the typical rules apply here: no crossing lines, don't be a jerk, have fun, etc. Activity rules are as follows: once accepted, you have three days to post an introduction, and after that some kind of substantial activity (a journal entry, a log, a thread, etc) is required every two weeks. Obviously shoot for higher than that, though! Journals can either be in IC (~ariel) or OOC (~bagel) format, as long as they don't contain a ridiculous amount of x's or underscores. AIM, while not required, is encouraged.
As far as the fairy tale characters go, it's actually preferred that you use the Disney version of them, but exceptions can be made. Any character from pretty much any fairy tale would be allowed - anyone from Snow White to one of the evil step-sisters - as long at they have a human played-by. So yes, as long as he has a PB, someone like Gus from Cinderella can be played if you like. If you'd like to play a character from something that you're not sure constitutes a fairy tale, feel free to ask!

HOLDS
Holds last for seventy-two hours. Extensions last for forty-eight hours. Challenges are allowed in the case of an inactive hold (just ask) and anonymous comments must come back within an hour with a journal. Remember when you're holding to specify whether the hold is for a regular person or a fairy tale character, and if it's for the latter, specify what that character is from.

APPLICATION
We're going to make this fairly simple and hopefully as painless as possible. All that we require is a blurb about your character - two or three paragraphs works - a contact post if you choose to not make an aim screen name, and examples. The blurb should give us a good idea of the character and should include at least something about their history, personality, and how they got to New York if they're a fairy tale. Feel free to write more if you feel inclined to! As for examples, compilation journals are preferred, but you can also dropbox them. Do not pm your examples. Comments are screened for privacy!
